Central Station my man is the place to head (Elizabeth St) . If you want to get ripped off, you could also go along to Dance Arena (next to Sanity in the mall, near the Wintergarden). Centrals are currently selling Technics 1200 MK3s for $950 a pop. It's a pretty hard price to beat. Mind you the Vestax TTs are a far superior product ...

*Prepares for flame*

P.S. Actually, I can't make a proper comparison of the two products, cause I learnt on the Vestax and my only experience of Technics come from listening booths at record stores.

That price on the MK3's is basically set and so I doubt you'll be able to lower it. It's probably the cheapest in Australia. However, you might be able to get the mixer at a discounted rate. But WTF do you want the DJM600 mixer? They're like $2100? Get the DJM300, that's what I've got and it works a dream. [Only] $900.

I guess if you've got the money, then go for it! But personally I don't see the point in having a four channel mixer for two turntables. Mind you, it does have cool sampling effects.

Man, pioneer has put the price up on the djm-600. They go for $2,300 aus now. What a rip. As for $950 being a good price for techs, man i got mine loaded for $750 each.

It might work differently in Brissy, but always offer cash, and see what they say about the price. Some places will give you a discount, but don't get your hopes up.

Nomiz, getting $600 off is bit of a dream. Personally, I would get the technics and get a cheaper mixer. I don't see the point in starting out with a djm-600. Start off with something a little plainer, it will help you develop your skills.

Oh, i also got a quote from lightsounds for $1,999 for the djm-600 if you really want it, you can try them, but think about getting something a little less extravagant to start off with.

Hey, I know, you can buy my old mixer, its only 14 months old and works like new

Where did you get your TTs, cause that's an excellent price for the MK3s!!! Also, the best price I've seen for the DJM600 is $2099 at a store in Adelaide called Derringer's music.

Nomiz

www.storedj.com.au is reliable...its run by a local guy called Nick you'll find him playing music at HMV in the city mall in the avo's. E-mail him...I was able to bargain with him a fair bit when i was looking. Also try Music Worx in the valley on Barry Pde, I got my MK2's for $899 each fully loaded and a Behringer VMX300 mixer for $300 from there.
