I actually like what The Scumfrog said on his FB:
| quote: | | Very refreshing topic-change to wake up this morning and see my newsfeed bitching at club Mansion in Miami for kicking DJ Shadow off the decks during the weekend. Although I am not sure why so many people take the side of DJ Shadow? Let me try to say it like this: If you decide to play in hell because of their slightly higher DJ fees, don't be surprised to get burned in the process. And don't tell me that DJ Shadow didn't know Mansion is hell. After the Dennis Ferrer incident, every experimental, left-field, underground DJ knows that they take the risk to get booted by playing there. Most importantly, it is an insult to your own fans to subject THEM to this hell by taking a booking in a club where they pay lots of money to (not) hear you. Don't feel sorry for DJ Shadow. He is either a blatantly greedy DJ who finds a slightly higher DJ fee more important than catering to his fans, or he is hungry for publicity, knowing that he gets a nice media spotlight if he deliberately makes himself get kicked off. Either way, don't blame Mansion for being douchebags. We all know they are, every booking agent knows they are, and no artist is FORCED to perform there. It is time for DJs to take responsibility for the venues they pick. |
