Sorry Ted, doesn't look like she is interested. I sent her some of your amazing poetry and her reply was "I got like halfway through that I don't have time for this shit".

What the fuck is the deal with you North Americans and dating sites? It's like an epidemic in Toronto. Everyone here uses a dating website because they find it difficult to meet people outside.
Well how about this? Actually make eye contact with people, be friendly and make an effort to chat with random people. You'd think people here were born on the internet and never developed any social skills.
I understand it for people who work a lot and don't get out much, or aren't looking to pick up some bird at a bar or something, but for everyone else, yeah, use your big boy skills and go out and talk to people.

It's quite amusing and sad at the same time.
I told you that you should have went to Montreal. Even homeless guys get a free beej there.

So fewer fat people here than in Tacoma, it's amazing.
Get a bunch of scandinavian descent people together in one place where its dark and gloomy for half the year and they tend to revert to their genetic code of being totally introverted.

I would have but I don't speak French so it would have been even tougher with the jobs I'm after. I would lose out to every bilingual person, plus the winter there is brutal.
I'll definitely be making my way up there for a visit if this new job opportunity pans out. Should know within a couple of weeks.
I don't want to stereotype people here because then it would just make me sound like every other bitter person but man, people here have been conditioned the wrong way. No wonder they get shell shocked if they travel to Europe or South America and discover how warm and sociable people can be. I've made a bunch of friends in 2 months but I've travelled a lot so I know how to do it. I'd hate to be myself 5 years ago here, I'd be depressed

Ask Jake how he likes southern hospitality in Georgia. Some of us enjoy the more stand-offish atmosphere. It is far less self-serving and annoying.

I know a fuckload of people there that speak 0 French and have carved out a decent life in the 514. It's cheaper vs pay than Toronto, and the women eat asshole with emphatically wonderful expressions on their gullets.
Don't get me wrong; I totally ditched the place. That being said, Canada is pretty shitty...you might as well have your ass eaten solely based upon the promise of some french fries.

See that's the thing, I'm not looking to make a life here. Canada is and always was going to be a temporary thing for a year or two. If I was looking to stay here, I'd probably look at working here for a bit and then moving up to Montreal.
Fuck the cold though. I know Toronto gets cold enough and Montreal is twice as bad. That's not the right climate for me in the long term

This isn't two sides of a coin Nou. It's not one or the other. Southern Hospitality in the States is nothing like Europe or South America. It's a completely different culture.
