I would like for a laptop with either an I5 or an I7 processor because when you're producing you don't want lag or overloading, lots of hard drive space because of the VST's and samples and a lot of ram, I'd start at 8GB of ram and then upgrade to 16 when you're ready. Here's a couple of laptops just to get the general idea of what you're looking for.
Here's an I5 processor laptop, I'd recommend upgrading the ram if it lags a little

Here's an I7 laptop if you have the extra money, I'd go with this one

Even though it's windows 8, 8.1 will be coming out soon in anoher month or so and that version will just be like have windows 7 on the machine. Again, these laptops are just a guide to help you shop for a laptop and get you started on production.
