Totally fell for the title, nice work
Ours were graded differently over here too. In high school it was:
VHA = Very High Achievement
HA = High Achievement
SA = Satisfactory Achievement
LA = Low Achievement (fail)
VLA = Very Low Achievement (fail)
In Uni it was graded on a scale of 1 through 7 (7 being the best grade, and 3/2/1 being a failing mark).

The letter 'F' is more powerful than an 'E'. 'F' obviously stands for Fail or Failure, which is what one has done if they have received an F on something.

Yup, pretty much. 10 was awesome, 9 was okay, 8 was disgraceful, and anything lower than that would bring about serious consequences at home.
So, yeah, there was nothing satisfying about numbers

That's same in Uni here, actually, except the word "achievement" is nowhere to be found in the translation. That's a shame, it sounds better the Aussie way
