More companies being sued by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America)

With all the continuous publicity there is out there for mp3 sharing, artist recognition, and music downloads, the industry is having what many would call a bit of a tif. The following is a parody from the very famous (infamous?) Onion.com. I was going to post it in the humour section, but I always find the onion to be more than just a laugh - the satire works because its often too true.

RIAA Sues Radio!

One of the main points it brings up is such :
the quality of music from radio stations is of a lower quality - those that are truly engaged by the music will purchase the cds that they have been exposed to.

This doesn't completely relate to trance music for 2 reasons

1) trance is not a popular music broadcast (here in N. America anyhow)
and
2) trance songs - in their complete forms can hardly EVER be purchased on cd

I for one dont have the money to go out and purchase turntables, a mixer and vinyl - but - if a song were to be released in its full version onto cd, I sure would think about purchasing it. While the sound quality from ripped vinyl is certainly top notch - I could easily find myself purchasing special edition cd's with a track and its remixes / b sides.
Just my 2 cents (not worth a whole lot I know)

So true. Without radio or mp3z I would never have never got into DJing or bought a single CD or vinyl. Thanks to mp3z I've bought 300 CDs and 30 vinyls. Have a think about that RIAA.
