How much do you sleep on average

How much do you guys sleep on average? I usually go to bed between midnight and half past midnight. My alarm goes off at 6:30. I don't normally fall asleep before 1am so I get between 5 and 6 hours. I have an office job (IT) which has me sitting on my ass all day but mentally it's quite demanding. I do one and a half our of sports two weeknights, sometimes three.

In weekends I usually go to bed between 1 and 6, depending on my activities, and I sleep till around 10-12 so I don't sleep that long in weekends either.

However, I'm never really exhausted in the evenings. I can go to bed at 10pm but I'll still fall asleep around 12-1. I never fall asleep on the couch watching tv either.

I guess my body doesn't really need much sleep, but I still have the feeling that at some point my body will tell me enough is enough and I'll experience some breakdown or something.

So.. what's your average?

Probably 6-7 hours a night for me, I'd say.

Anywhere from 6-8. Longer in the Winter, less in the Summer!

I'm old, so I rarely stay up on weekends anymore.

I need quite a lot. 8 hours minimum to avoid feeling exhausted the following day. This week, for instance, I went to bed about 2am on Sunday night and 1am last night, waking up at 7.45am both mornings. So I got at least 13 hours sleep over two nights, and yet I was absolutely fucked at work today. There was a spell around noon where I was battling to stay awake at my desk.

I am aware that I seem to need a lot more sleep than most people I know, and it is annoying. But then, my caffeine intake is pretty low - probably about 50mg a day on average as I don't drink tea or coffee, whereas even a standard Starbucks coffee contains 260mg of caffeine.

I be on that caffeine all day every day until I'm pissing stones at some point in the future, I'd assume.

I think I averaged around 10 hours a night last fall because of my easy schedule. I could sleep at least 12 if I let myself.. Now with a hell of a schedule in school I still try to get 7-8 hours a night, which I think should be enough. I still sometimes get this drowsy feeling during the day though.

There are also nights when I just can't get myself to go to bed, so I often stay up for the night and the next day.

Around 7 hours, but find it's not enough. But when I sleep for 10 or more hours I'm quite tired as well. I think around 8-9 hours is the sweet spot for me but it's hard for me to get in bed that early.

7-8. If I get less I'm amazingly productive until noon then I'm a useless twat for the rest of the day. 8 hours and 30 minutes is my sweet spot.
