why people hate america...
this is by no means a thread to bash america... i'm not trying to stir up shit... i just want people to read some of the ignorance that prevails in america today..
letters to time magazine, octover 14, 2002:

this is exactly this kind of attitude makes people hate america. i almost pissed myself when i read this. obviously this is not the mentality of the entire nation, but it is the ignorance of a portion of the population. unfortunately, this portion of the population has a loud voice in america, a voice that is amplified 100x by their own president george w. its sad to see that america gets such a bad rap because of the stupidity of a few people (a lot of them in positions of prominence and power), shooting off their mouths. the voices of sanity in america rarely get heard. its unfortunate.
another thing, if i hear someone talk about people who "hate freedom" one more time, i'm gonna explode... nobody hates freedom. that's such a lame excuse... read the letter above and you'll see why people might be driven to attack america... and for the record, osama is a millionaire. its not poverty that drove him to a life of terrorism.
all this foolish talk of war is sending gas prices through the roof... bush needs to shut his trap..

It's not so much the idiots who write that shit as it is the people who read it and assume all Americans think that way. When other people come to realize that more often than not we dont agree with each others political opinions and the stupid shit they read is the minority I'm sure we'd get a lot less hate.

its hard to see it as a minority when shit like this appears in TIME, and no one else can chime in with something intelligent to say about the arab world...
of course i KNOW its the minority... i'm just saying, the views of the normal peeps aren't represented in the media... especially with george bush spouting the same crap all over tv and print.

Most of the media belives they need to be extremly patriotic, as it was good ratings for a while, thats why all you see is the boneheads. Besides even if that was the majority it's still not reason to hate the hole country. I'm sure theres a lot of people in a lot of countries who do some incredibly stupid shit that I absolutly hate. SO instead of hating on the whole country I only hate the people who act retarded.

my point is, this is the SAME OLD SHIT that has been posted 30 times in the last month. if you read chill room at all (which im betting you do), you would know that this is a rehash of what about 10 other people besides you have ALREADY POSTED... so why is it, that every time an america bashing thread gets started, that another one like this has to get posted?
