Uplifting Trance Nowadays..

Is so boring and predictable.
Even back then you could find cheap tracks, but at least the producer had some vision, idea, his own trademark sound. You could see his perspective. Today everything is formulaic to a ridiculous extent. I mean...I understand that the typical arrangement is what it is, and I can't expect revolutions on that side, but at least the sound selection for god sake! Don't they realize their music will sink in the ocean of mediocrity. Don't they wanna distinguish themselves from the rest?
I guess some people are just happy to achieve the sound of that "x" producer and never work on developing their own. Or maybe they have no vision whatsoever and they got into it just to persue the dream of becoming "the second, next," Tyas, Blueman of who ever they fell in love with. How delusional and stupid people can get?

I think you'll find that, the longer you're in the music industry, the more you'll notice that there are far fewer visionaries than there are copycats riding on the bandwagon. Visionaries have the risk of not having their work accepted by large audiences, which is exactly what happens to most of them. But, when they do, the bandcamp will jump on that formula as fast as possible because that's where the $$$ is - giving people what they want to hear while it's fresh. Very few people have the vision, creativity, and talent to make something that is both original and appealing to a broad audience. There's also a lot more luck and timing involved than you might think.

I kinda wish we had some "trance bands" like Chicane or Faithless doing a more original, less compressed and computerized music.

Come on with all the stupid More is MOAR approach with all the stupid noises, glitches and drops wrapped with over compression and insanely loud mastering.

Yes, because there continues to be experimentation and use of Analog hardware in Techno.

Here's a couple of recent Trance tracks from someone who doesn't adhere to the modern formula (and uses both Hardware and Software):

aphex twin, speedy j, secret cinema. all labeled techno and/or idm today but they all still capture the trance vibe we all look for.

They're labeled as such because they didn't produce Trance. But perhaps the point you're trying to make is that the line between Techno and Trance was occasionally blurred back in the day, which I would agree with.

You post 2 videos of strictly Analog Hardware, while always shouting how much better you think Software is, and advise Juan to only use the latter. I don't get it.

actually its true lol, i was thinking this ysterday....for some reason, it's "deep house" if theres a black guy singing sensuously....like that is the criteria......that's what makes it "deep" lmao.....it's true though......i would call that classic house, or funky/black culture house.......which is different than true "deep" house...which you dont need a sensuous black guy....

and uplifting trance.....idk i've made a couple tracks recently, that i would say are uplifting...theyre 134 bpm though...

Good point Teezdalien.

The thing is, uplifting trance got "standardized" to a certain degree, thus many people restrain themselves in these standards set around 2007/2008. Before that you could hear Chicane's "Offshore", Paul Van Dyk's "Nothing But You" or Delerium's "Innocente" not doubting anyone of them being uplifting although structurally quite far away.

The new generation of producers are convinced they must adhere to some predefined rules to fall in the category. They don't have imagination whatsoever nor the desire to push the boundaries they've enslaved themselves into.
