Demolition (2015)
Every once in a while there comes a 'cult film', and every once in a while, that cult film has Gyllenhaal in it, surprise, surprise.
I thought 'Demolition' was or could very well be regarded as the 'Donnie Darko' of the two thousand and teens; an ode to American Psycho; an ode to Fight Club; the Finch Flick of our times (without the cheesy 'social
Network' epithets of self-congratulatory masturbation, but 'Social network still holds its ground)" in some way. Credit, where credit is due) ---- Double lives questioning their very existence and testing the moral constraints within our society. Thebethical and 'civilly obliged' existence embodied in this drama -- a traumatized investment banker who represents everything that is wrong with New York City, finding his soul as a 'Demolition' contractor, and discovers true romance is blind! Entirely intellectual and partially physical. Our concept of dating is fucked up. His character symbolizes the Death of the soul. , as an individual of society. I feel compelled to ramble about this flick and highly recommend it to you .
I am also drinking lots of wine. I have a new job and my boss doesn't know about it!!
Woohoo
