Spike this was sooo good. You have such a knack for collecting those ultra-lush tunes. This made my Thursday morning go by nice and quickly .
I will say this, that it's interesting how you kick things off with downtempo chillout and then stealthily drop Adam Moda - In Glow to bring things to 4x4 in your quest to pump up the energy to your full-on driving trance for the main chunk of the mix. Sometimes I wonder if those different styles mess with your consistency (reason being if you click around various portions of the mix you either get super chillout or high energy trance) but you were able to arrange tracks in such a way that it felt cohesive in a full listen.
Definitely a unique way of doing things and yet another successful Windmill Sessions. I can't believe you are so close to 50! Cheers! |
Cheers for listening and reviewing mate! Yes, that's a fair point about playing with the energy at points. I think it makes sense as a whole, as the overall feel is the same, regardless of tempo and energy. It's probably a bit of a conscious decision too, as I was influenced by early DJ mixes that had clear transitions between sections, such as dropping an ambient tune mid-set, or breaks midway through and building again.

Bumping for now because otherwise you won't think I care Have been listening to this and 038 back and forth this afternoon, shall put together a more thoughtful comment when I get a chance to compose my thoughts, but as always Spike, *thumbsup* |
Thanks! These mixes aren't as regular as they used to be, but 040 is on the way, all programmed - it just needs mixing now. So that'll be up in the next few days hopefully.
