Problem with my equipment?

I just got my setup on sunday and was able to play around with it some but for some reason the 2nd turntable is quieter than the first (even through the headphones as well as the moniter spkrs), about half the volume. All the settings are right as far as I know and both turntables are hooked up to phono where they should be and the mixer's set to phono also, the only problem that could be my fault is maybe it isn't grounded properly? it's a Numark DM1001 mixer and Numark TT100 turntables.

There's a few little spacers in between the nut that screws to the end of the grounding-thingy-mabobber on the back of the mixer, I grounded the first turntable, then put the spacers on to seperate both grounds, then grounded the second one, then tightened them to the mixer with the nut. Could that be the problem or is it something else? I'm not really too clear on how to properly ground it so I just did it the way that made sense, the booklet didn't say.

just make sure the ground lugs are contacting the bolt, and that it's tight.

check:
a) balancing of the tonearms - make sure they are both balanced and set at the same weight
b) cartridge mounting - make sure the cartridges are both mounted properly
c) headshell connections - unscrew both headshells from the tonearm and firmly reseat. check the contacts for debris, corrosion, oxidation, etc
d) RCA cables - make sure the cables are securly seated to the table and the mixer
e) kinda obvious: gain controls - set the gains equally
f) records: are you using the same record?
g) mixer: reverse the connections.. IE table 1 to input 2 and vice versa - is the softer table now louder? possible mixer problem.

c) check
d) check
e) check
f) check
g) check

Thanks alot for helping me troubleshoot. I reversed the connections like you suggested on "g" and the first turntable which is on input 2 now, is still louder than tt2 which is now on input 1, so it must be the turntable

the cartridge is the cartridge, of course of course.. LOL

possibly try swapping the needles

ie. move the needles from TT1 to TT2 and vice versa

see if that changes anything
