Should have posted this a while ago, my favorite record this year so far, absolutely gorgeous late night headphone ambient stuff. Kind of dub techno meets ambient meets turn of the millenium IDM / clicks n cuts.
Well, it certainly fulfils Bill Brewster's advice that you should always buy any record you see with the words "space", "drum" or "Africa" written on the sleeve.

I've given this a few listens now. It works well as background music for burning the midnight oils, alright, but there's nothing here that will keep it on rotation in a year's time.

As far as stoner soundtracks go, they have an NTS radio show, which is a goldmine for slow, blurry, stoned out ambient and modern classical sounds. Been discovering a lot of new artists through that since I've been getting more into the modern classical / bandcamp ambient zone anyways. That said, those genres often blurs the line between "great doozing/sleeping/background music" and "utterly forgettable".
