Aria Dido (AvB Remix) Intro from Apollo Program

Popped on Aria - Dido the other day. Such a good track...It starts out with some samples from Apollo 7. For years I wondered what it was from and I dug around, ended up looking through many many transcripts from the Apollo Program, turns out the samples were taken from the first TV transmission made from Apollo 7.

Always been curious what the story was about why AvB included that in the beginning of his remix. Anyone know?

I heard it in other places too. There's a set from Peter Liu I have that starts out with the same sample. Always curious on why this was!

Also side rant: I fucking hate the tyranny on FB trance groups. They allow for 0 discussion. At least 2 of those groups I belong to have to approve all posts made and god forbid they approve a comment which isnt the same track linked on youtube. Ive made a few posts on there discussion based and they just out and out reject them. Stupid.

I did not see that coming from you, Senator Sinkpisser.

I don't, but my best guess is just for fun, or because the opening intro atmos seemed to call for something like it.

That remix must be one of the best, if not the best, trance things AvB ever did. I don't care at all for that sort of fluffy-sounding lead synth, but that whole build-up before it is grand.

Only if you can do it while dropping your cruise missiles at the same time.

Astronaut chatter is one of the oldest clichés in the sample book. Second only to the "Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion" speech from Bladerunner.
