Maestro - The Documentary. (Keep a eye out! melbournians)
hey,
just letting you all know about this documentary thats meant to premiere in aus in a few months... its really weird i heard about it ages ago now (like nearly a year!) i always had it in the back of my mind but sorta forgot about it. I am really getting into house now it's popped up again with a aus release soon... maybe its cause i was looking for it more and more now too , anyway it looks REALLY intresting, especially if you are even remotely intrested in dance music and its origins (or one of...!). Well aparantly it features all those old school guys, but when i was told about it i heard it was more orientated around larry levan specifically but i guess wel see when it comes!... i think its in the same style of that great doccumentary 'scratch' remember that! but think house! hell yeah!
it looks so amazing, it has some exclusive 'paradise garage' footage (!) and what looks like a great soundtrack.
the website (http://maestro-documentary.com) now mentions a december premiere (which was november like a week ago i remember ) which seems to be goin on here :

but lets hope there is a perth showing eh! i dont wanna have to wait till 2003! but even so. looks worth it! check out the page!

if your in melbourne. love your trance or any form of dance music. watch this documentary i have been especially into house lately so im well excited about it (even though im in fucking perth.) but hopefully it might finds its way over here but it something you need to see even if your not into house. believe me i used to think house was shit too... i know where your coming from! but like it or not these guys set the foundation for music today, trance, progressive, drum and bass all that shit would not have existed without these icons... those of you who know the names featured in this docco will be well excited too but for those that dont, just take my advice, get schooled and go see the thing. these guys are legends and this is the first proper feature length docco that really goes into it, i cant stress enough how much you need to get schooled and watch this docco!
just enter some of those names in a search engine or something and read up on the history if you must... a docco of this nature actually going into all the details and new footage of those clubs that started dance music in thier peak! AMAZING!
you melbourne people. dont miss this. seriously.
