How do you make your own mix?
I've heard about the program Acid, but I'm not sure on the details of what it's used for. What can it do? If I wanted to, say, make a nice collection of some of my favorite songs for a homework session what program would you suggest, if not acid? And should I just buy it online, or is there a preferred place to get it? If Acid is indeed the one can you give me some tips since actual tutorials don't often explain as well as real people...thanks!

Sonic Foundry Acid is a sequencer. It's a very powierful prog, you can do many thing with it, like editing songs, making tracks from loops, etc. You can make a mix in it but it would be a lot of work, you had better make a mix in some real-time mixing software like Traktor Dj Studio.

if you know how to use acid you can do anything you want to make a perfertly flawless mix. It allows beatmatching and millions of effects. The key difference is that you lay everything out in front of you and work the song/mix until you deem it done. No starting completely over b/c you messed up. It takes time to learn.
PS you should have put this in the Amateur DJs & Music Producers Promotion forum. The mods will most likely move this.

i've used acid, you can make some whicked mixes. But nothing is better than mixing it on turntables . But sometimes you get those whicked tunes that aren't coming out for months so you just have to make a mix some how.
