Notes to the Bassline...

I'm really having a hard time trying to find out certain patterns to creating a good bassline. I tried to do two steps to each note starting with F or F#- but nothing seems to hit it at the right. Does anyone know any tips to creating a nice bass line? It's not synths that are the problem- it's rather the notes and changes that seem to bother me. Thanks.

if you want "trancy" basslines, you might want to start with repetition. take 2 beats/kicks and just put in bassline wherever you want, then repeat it for the next 2 beats/kicks. for instance,

B = beat/kick
b= bass

B---B---B---B---B
bb-b--b---------

now, if you repeat that same bassline for the next 2 beats/kciks, you will get something like this

B---B---B---B---B
bb-b--b-bb-b--b-

make sense?

if you want pm me, and i can send you a .flp of some of my basslines that i have created.
