Question How to get music from my mixer onto my computer so i can burn CD's??

i want to burn some stuff onto CD but im not sure how i can get it onto my computer. i have an okay sound card, it doesn't have RCA inputs, just the small 3.5mm kind. and is there a certain program that i could use to record stuff from my mixer and save it as MP3 or WAV so that i can burn it? help me out. TIA.

you could use one of those little converter deallys. if ur soundcard dont have rca inputs, you can go to radio shack and ask for something to convert a standard rca line into a 3.5 millimeter kinda thing...do that, and your sorted!

by 3.5 mm, ur talkin about a reg. headphone jack...right?

if so...i have one of those converter thingys for when i want to run music on my laptop to my stereo. i can always get a new one, cuz i live 'round the corner from a radio shack. if ya really cant find one, id be willing to give ya mine.

merry christmas! lol lol lol

Hi!

Buy an audio cable that has a minijack plug in one end (connect to sound card) and phono on the other (to mixer). Then use a sound recording app to record your mix. Just do a search on www.download.com or something to get a freeware or shareware program, or use the one that comes free with Windows.

Important:
Before recording a full mix, you have to calibrate your input level on the sound card. If not, then the volume level on the recording will probably be way too loud, which means totally distorted, or in some cases too low. It would take some time to explain how to do this fully, but the point is to make it sound as loud as possible without sounding distorted. Play around with the input volume on your soundcard to get it right.

Try Traktor DJ Studio. Awesome having 2 soundcards. You can record your mixing, make loops, and it's SO SO SO EASY !!! The BPM counter is almost perfect, and it's wonderful mixing trance trax. Search the web and get the 1.06 version (fully functional). You don't need any sound editor at all. Oh!!! Do you mix with turntables, and mixer? well, would be better if you digitalize your trax. In this case, yes, you'll need some wire stuff. If you want to burn it on cds, try the Nero Sound Editor.
I hope it will help ya.
