For anyone who saw the game on saturday (eagles vs cowboys) did you think it was a disgrace what they did to emmitt smith? he played about 10 drives the whole game and campo refused to even talk to him. also, he wants to play 2 or 3 more years and he still looks great but jerry jones is talking about getting rid of him.

now i HATE the cowboys with a passion, but emmit smith is the one player on that team who that doesn't extend to. he is a respected player and has given himself to that team for 13 years. for him to finish his career with any other team is inherently WRONG. i think it is horrible the way he was treated saturday and jerry jones should get his head out of his ass if he thinks his team can do anything without emmitt smith.

the one good thing about this is that it gives me a renewed reason to hate dallas. it *almost* wasn't fun anymore because they suck so bad. though saturday's win was still sweet

Emitt is past his prime, he's an avrage back at best, maybe sub-par. The last 3 seasons or so he's averages somewere around 3.4 ypc(yards per cary), and under 100 yards per game. He certantly isn't worth the 6 million or something his current contract is worth, and it makes sense to see how good his backup is, and to see if he's good enough to be a normal starter.
