ok! i have been wondering this for quite a while. why some cdj-100s' have digital out and some doesn't?? is the digital out only in america or something? this really bothers me because i'm about to order a cdj-100s and i want one with a digital out but i can't find them anywhere! so what's up with this?

it's really confusing! the first site is pioneer dj products in america i think and the second is in europe i think!


i thought about ordering one from www.thomann.de but their players don't have digital outs (confirmed by e-mail)! wtf is going on here? i'd really appreciate if someone could clarify this thing to me!

it does not have digital out

not sure never seen them with digital out.

maybe its just an amercian mode?
but personally i dont think it will be useful.

Mine have a digital out. I dont use it. You wont use it unless you have a pioneer mixer. The reason is the digital out is used in coordination with pioneer mixers for when you are cueing, and if you move your crossfader from the side to the middle, the song on the cd player automatically starts. Kinda like an autoplay from a cue position.

i dunno if there are any other uses. Its not really usefull anyways. The RCA outputs is all you need bro.

i have them with the digital out. but you dont need to use the digital out to connect it to a mixer. there is a separate control wire that comes out of mine that is different from the digital out. that is the wire you are talking about that lets you cue it using the fader and stuff.

Digital Output

that is from the pioneer page you sent. and in digital out mode you cant do anything with the cd players. the tempo stays the same no matter what you do, the jog dial does not work and the effects dont work. once it is in digital mode you can do what it says on the page...normal play mode only. the only thing it is good for is if you want to digitally record a song from a cd. you CANNOT mix in digital mode. i have had the cd players for 3 years and have not used the digital out other than the first couple weeks when i was trying to figure it out.

Whitesmoke said it all. I have also had the Pioneer 100s with the digital out for a couple of years. I also have never used the digital out either. Ditto with the mixer control wire.

thanks for the answers! i was going to use the digital out to rip copy protected cds to my hard drive but i guess i have to get along without it! i ordered the palyer from thomann on new years eve, can't wait to get it!

along side djm 300 mixer ..i guess will do for a bedroom dj equipment!

i've had mine for a couple of weeks now and it's a cool player, but i can't really do that much with it yet because i don't have a mixer or another cd-player! i'm gonna get the pioneer djm-300s when i have enough money and another cdj-100s! i'm really waiting forward to being able to mix tracks together! just gotta save save save!



oh, and the one that i got, doesn't have digital out, so it's probably just america or something! but i'm really satisfied with the player!

it doesnt make a big difference with digital out..so. ^_^ happy that you are satisfied.
