Yeah, it's definitely pretty fucked up. There are still a lot of things you can do - running two systems, one with all your pirated stuff (which is always offline) might help, but it would make it harder to share things effectively.

TCPA dependent software could still possibly be reverse engineered, then re-coded in a TCPA independent way and pirated that way, but it would require a lot more technical knowledge than that which is possessed by most of today's software pirates.

I'm not too worried about it, as I expect the quantity and quality of Linux-based software to increase exponentially in the next few years, but it poses a huge threat the privacy in the digital age.

interesting. whenever they come up with some new technology, there's always someone on planet earth that will break the 'code' and get it working somehow. hehe. fuck seems like Microsoft is taking over the planet. just look at all the .NET shit, your 1 .net password will work for 1000 websites which will bring you personalized shit. all run, or supported by microsoft. i only came to this realization within the past month, and frankly it's starting to scare me....fuck, i think i would be just as happy if not happier living w/o computers, internet, tv (i dont have one anyways) and all the high tech bs anyways

yeah im pretty ignorant about linux. altough, i've read a bit on it lately, and yeah, as people will deviate away from MS and try out new stuff - what else but Linux. or MacOS

i'm all for Linux. As a matter of fact, anybody tell me if there's a Linux for download somewhere, and some manual on how to operate? i wouldnt mind playing around.

linuxiso is a great place to download and discuss diffrent versions of linux. If your just gonna be messing around with it you probably want to start with redhat or mandrake, though there all free.
