Man oh man...
Same old story, you know? Bored, stuck-up couch potatoes who haven't been laid in 17 years find out that masses of much more interesting people are having a great time while they sit around watching the Weather Channel, and get so enraged with jealousy that they decide they simply MUST do something about those rowdy nightclubbers, that is right after they finish reading this delightful Reader's Digest article. Rich Snobs combine their efforts to lobby Rich Politician Snobs to make the neighbourhood a more quiet, decent place for themselves, because frankly, other people aren't very important.
I'm not trying to generalize, because I know that most people aren't like this. It's the people who are, that ruin it for the rest of us...

LOL!!!!
that is hilarious and so true! (well if it isn't, and probably isn't, it's nice to think so anyway)
yeah, it sucks how some want to ruin the fun of many ... for such stupid reasons! what you've said, DigiNut, i think pretty much nails it on the head even if it is a little overflamboyant.
which reminds me, these tragic club incidents in the U.S. will definitely add fuel to the efforts of those who would like to shut down afterhours scenes, in rave or club form, anywhere. it's unfortunate that these things have to happen out of such ignorance and misunderstanding.
on another note, it's kind of hard to believe (personally), that montreal would fall to a fate like this! hardly believable, considering its awesome party reputation! i sincerely hope that this doesn't become serious.
to quote from the article:
"What about the thousands of cars constantly streaming down Ste-Catherine, the heroin problem, the crackheads downtown, why pick on the afterhours clubs?"
well said!
down with pencil-pusher politicians! get out and get laid, ffs.
