Question Making A Picture (.JPG) Brighter

I know that this is probably a stupid question - But I have this picture a took with my camara where there it's dark and you can't see the people too well - Is there any way to make the picutre brighter so I can see it better? Thanks in advance

It's quite easy to do with Photoshop. Open your image, go to Image-Adjustments-Brightness/Contrast and adjust to your heart's content.
Keep in mind that the darker the original image is, the blurrier your final image will be. You will also have a lot more noise. You can only compensate for so much underexposure.

I tend to find that if you take pics with a normal camera (not digital) the best way to get it developed is on to a photo cd, brings up the pics in higher res, and brighter.

But progs like photoshop dont really do much when u make them brighter, coz there isnt enough info to get the pic brigther, if that makes sense, cant get sommit from nothing

It depends on the bit-depth of the image. The maximum amount of data you can cram into a picture is 32 bits. I don't have to tell you there's a lot more information there than in an 8-bit image.

The cool thing about Photo CDs is that the photos are stored in RAW format: the images scanned in from your negatives, nothing changed or adjusted. You can make all the necessary changes yourself, unlike JPEGs from digital cameras. Photo CDs last forever, too.
