Hey MTL ta's wsup! One of my friends is comign up to MTL from NY with her bf and is having lots of trouble with a place to stay and stuff. Could you guys tell me a a good hotel/motel to stay at and thats not too expensive. And one that is relativley near stuff (she's into bars) so like somewhere near st catherine st or on it. thanks alot.

If they want to go to bars, I'd aim near the Crescent St./Bishop area, maybe Le Nouvel Hotel? Rooms are about $99/night canadian. That would probably translate to pretty cheap in American dollars, and it's a pretty nice place.

This site says about $103, but if you search around, you can probably find cheaper.

I got a hotel really cheap in montreal. The travel lodge downtown was like $60 or $70 Canadian (with a little student discount). It was VERY VERY small but really.. what are you going to do there other than sleep? Its a big building and I am sure there are plenty of vacancies. Oh and it was a 3 minute walk from a big St. Hubert on st. Catherines
