depending what kind of turntable you have, you might need to worry about grounding. if it is a dj table, then most likely you are going to need to ground it before you can rip the vinyl. if it is a regular home stereo table, then you *might* be in luck and not have to ground the wires. either way, a turntable jack is pre-amplified or something like that, that is why your cd player sounds like shit when you plug it to the phono input on a home stereo.
so, basicallly, you are going to need some piece of equipment to sit in between your turntable, either a mixer, or a home-stereo reciever w/ a phono input on it
