Cause back before '99, U didn' give a damn about PvD, but now that he's pressin' platinum LP's, all of a sudden ur' into
his killer beat's! Ain't nothin' U can do to make it stop cause trance makes the world go round, so cut the act...
crap, i can't believe i have to write a 2-page paper for my electronic music class... next week i'll be in the library, trying to find a book about techno, lmao
the only good things i could get out of that class (lol, literally, carry out) are the juno & yamaha synthesizers, and maybe a crappy sony belt-drive turntable which looks new, but the pitch is screwed up so much, the strobe illuminator dots stay stationary only @ +2%

trance is definately not a minimalistic musical style.. i guess there could be minimalistic trance though.. but I doubt it would be good.

This is for a private class. I'm just using my college's facilities.
Yes, I am in college though the class isn't part of any of my college courses.

Here's a nice link for some good info. on the historical influences of "techno" as we call it. Don't know if you've seen it yet, but it definitely schooled my ass on a few things:
Also, check the forum archives either in the Music Discussion or here in the Chill Out Room for Dance or Trance History. A little while ago (about 6-7 months ago) someone had some really good info. on the history of modern dance music.
