Get yourself a set of pioneers. They are brilliant. either them or the sennheiser hd-25 ones. Got bothe sets and they are bothe brilliant.

The sony 700's have a lot of design flaws which can shorten the life of the earphone. Like the cable always comes apart at the bit adapter bit.

Ive had a pair of the Technic DJ1210s for over a year now and they are still in perfect condition...

they sound great and don't get bass heavy like the sony v700s seem to get when you have them cranked

ive tried other headphones but i like the technics the best, especially in a club environment they're great

no problems for me at least, nor have i heard any bad things about them from anyone else..

For SURE, PIONEERS ARE THE BOMB. I've had Sony MDR V700DJ and they are no where near the quality and performance of the new PIONEERS.

PIONEER HDJ 1000

Many Pro DJs are switching to these, one of my favorites of them Christopher Lawrence did a little bit ago, 'cause they are simply the BEST....

How does the PIONEER HDJ 1000 compare to the Sony 7506 (or Sony V6)?

The V6 by Sony are more of a studio headphones, and both V6 and 7506 are even worse than what I had before, the MDR V700DJ, and I sold those as soon as I tried and bought the PIONEER HDJ1000. Well worth the Extra Money. Click H E R E for the best price on them anywhere. Let them know that Daniel referred you, my friend owns that online store.
Put simply, there is nothing else on the market that comes close to the performance of PIONEER HDJ1000, unless you want to pay over $450.00 USD for Shure in ear DJ headphones:

First those are Studio Monitor Headphones and not DJ. Second they cost more than Pioneer and perform A LOT LESS look at the specs:

Senheiser HD25 retail $200.00

High maximum sound pressure level
65 .nominal impedance for universal compatibility
Tough, detachable steel cable
Frequency Response 16-22000 Hz
Neodymium ferrous magnet systems and lightweight aluminium/copper voice
coils for fast transient response.
Third, I personally think they are quite ugly.

PIONEER HDJ1000 PRO DJ

Specs:
Type: Tightly closed dynamic headphones
Frequency Range: 5 to 30,000Hz

Impedance: 40 Ohm
Maximum Input: 3,500 mW
Output Sound Level: 107 dB/mW
Unit Type: 50 mm dome
Plug: 3.5 mm 3P mini plug (gold-plated)
Weight: 9.5 oz (excluding cord)
Accessories: 06.3 mm 3P Plug adapter with screw & carrying bag
Connection cord: 3.94 ft long single coiled cable (about .84 ft when straight.
WARNING though, PIONEER headphones are very powerful, YOU WILL NEED TO TURN DOWN THE VOLUME ON YOUR MIXER BEFORE USING THEM, I almost tore my ear drums the first time I put them on, I was used to Sony 700DJ that I had before, so my mixer headphone volume was turned up, now it is only about 35% turned up.
