True to a degree but in more "barbaric" times (ie the crusades) they didn't have the technology to destroy us all. This now exists.

Yes it is my belief that Science and technology will eventually destroy us all. Though it enables us to develop and learn about the world around us it also provides us with the means to destroy ourselves. It may not happen in our life time but unless something drastic happens in the future I can't help but feel pessimistic about the future of man kind.
