Most people wouldn't be able to differentiate between the tastes of vodkas. It amuses me to no end when I see people demanding their drinks be made with Grey Goose when it's constantly ragged on in blind taste tests. Belvedere, Chopin, Stoli Elit et al are hardly much, if at all, better than brands like Ketel One or 42 Below.

you can tell easily with really cheap vodkas, you get this rubbing alcohol taste, its really sharp, not a burn, but a sharp sting.
A really good burn vodka for mixing is Back in the USSR. Love that stuff, and when the state ran the stores it was like 15$ for a fifth.
Also you can tell the difference between potato and grain vodkas. Potato vodkas seem to always be a bit thicker, especially when they are super-chilled. They take on an almost syrup like consistency. I am not a fan of potato vodkas.

I never really did understand all the hype with Grey Goose. It just doesn't taste all that good to me. I'd easily go with Absolut or even Skyy over that and save myself a good 10-15 bucks.

I hate vodka, but I despise Grey Goose. Most people who order it are complete philistines.
Kevin gave me some Jean Marc XO vodka that is pretty good, and I don't MIND a few other brands, I just very rarely see the point in drinking them.
When she took off her vest I was expecting some sort of MacGyver-esque move to freedom. Instead she proceeded to act like a cat with its head stuck in a box.

Yeah, same for me I posted a reply, but I can't actually scroll down to look at it... and I can't do anything else there either, like quote, lock, delete etc.
