just got done interviewing a subject for a profile piece im writing for publishing

After failing to recognise it quite a few times (even mistaking it for Arabic once back in Japan), I've decided to learn some Dutch.

The language is so much fun! It's way easier than standard German if you already speak English, in which case it's also completely useless since the Dutch all seem to speak English to some extent (and, for that matter, German).

But, as a Japanese language major, I'm sure I don't count as someone who learns languages because they're useful in any sense
