No probably not...but why take the chance? If I did run the engine and then had the lines flushed, any time in the future that the engine light comes on - in my mind I'm going to think "Fuck! It was that goddamn washer fluid!" And even if it has nothing to do with it, I will never really know and that will piss me off, lol.
Plus, like I said it didn't cost me anything to have the reservoir drained - prob would have charged me if they had to flush the entire system.

Also lol @ "It was my privilege"....didn't see that. Yes I'm pretty sure they were thinking that, hahaha.
When I dropped my car off, 3 different people came out from the shop - probably to get a look at the asshole who put windshield fluid in the coolant tank, lol. I asked if they could please top up my windshield fluid while they were at it and the guy lol'ed mightily.

Lol!! At VW it's probably 5 times as much! It's not the money though - it's the knowledge of literally having to pay for an easily avoidable mistake. Salt in the wound, y'know?

I'm pretty sure they did, yeah. Especially the one who handed me my keys and said "There's no charge."

washer fluid is methanol with some detergent (know this because i used to run my can on a water meth system and would just use washer fluid instead because it was cheaper) the methanol isnt bad but the detergent kinda sucks in your radiator
if it was just a little it wouldnt have done much harm but was probably best you got it drained. I wouldnt really fret over the mistake, my cousin put diesel in his car when he first started driving, at least you didnt mess up like that

No wonder mechanics charge so much, people are fucking idiots.
Glad I can work on my own car to avoid that shit.

The worst I've done was taking my car to the shop because the check engine light was on. I made sure all of my fluids were good, but when I got there I was told that it was because my gas cap was tightened all the way.
