If someone (lets say a family member) asks you for help with something and you tell them that the way they are doing it wont work and that theyll make a huge mess of things and suggest another way to solve the problem but they stubbornly refuse to listen and say that they changed their minds that you should go away and that they dont need your help after all and can manage themselves, then after a while they call you back, say that it didnt work and that they made a gigantic mess of it and if you could please come and help clean up the mess, is one still obliged to go and help out or is the "i told you so, clean up your own god damned mess" too rude a thing to say at this point? |
Tell them they should have seen it coming, but help them anyway if it's a family member or a friend. People should be given the chance to screw up every now and then, specially if it was worth the try.
