Re-watching Dexter at the moment on DVD, and just realised that the character "Stan Liddy" is the dude who played Robocop

I am currently in Leesville, LA scoping out places to live when I officially move here in about 3-4 weeks. I knew this place was going to be back woods, but holy fuck this is beyond what I ever imagined. The really fucked up part is trying to find a house to rent and places are asking $1200+ a month for a 3br/2ba house in either a ghetto or in the middle of the fucking woods. Because of my current living situation, I have to have a house, so apartments are a no-go; and living on post is not an option. Enid, OK (where I currently live) is about 50x better than this place. My christmas cards are going to be me in overalls holding a banjo and a spit jar. fuck

The really awesome part was driving on a lonely highway between Leesville and DeRidder, LA and passing 6 strip clubs...one of which offered "new orleans ladies". the bail bonds and liquor stores were right next to it.

The contractors working on the house across the alleyway have their Pit Bull tied up to their truck and its just been barking like crazy for the last 45 minutes.
Also some family up the street has a pit and they let it roam around free. I don't mind pits that much... but come on, keep the thing in your yard, especially when there are lots of other pets around and small children, not to mention very busy streets.

English it is then, i can understand croatian almost perfectly but when i try to actually speak it, what comes out is a weird mess of croatian, serbian and a tiny bit of slovenian if i cant find the right word in croation or serbian

edit: I haven't travelled in ages, I probably won't be any time soon either
Usually one of those things best done when young, stupid and irresponsible.
What good is economic prosperity if you can get eaten by a spider while sleeping. Unless you actually build an impenetrable fort out of all that extra money economic prosperity gets you (in which case, AWESOME! forts are cool) those bitey animals can be the death of you
Scandinavia probably...though that might be a bit chilly for those that only know about snow from textbooks and tv shows
As for travelling, you could try being old(ish) stupid and irresponsible for a few weeks, see how it suits you. I know a few people that seem to enjoy being old stupid and irresponsible and annoyingly enough they seem to be much happier than those who took the responsible route

I found this paradox that the smarter you are, the more evil you're capable of.

You're a class act, so I'm not implying you went there. I'm just saying those places are where satan comes.
