Lira I was reading about that Brazilian corruption case in the news. Why would you be pro gov?
On the roommate topic it's like playing Russian roulette. You can't divine what someone is truly like by meeting them unless they're a complete nut. You need independent sources that's why quality jobs ask for references from multiple people.
If you're unable or unwilling to do you're do diligence save yourself the aggravation and get an apt by yourself.

I'm actually anti-anti-gov, rather than pro gov.
The thing is, Dilma really cocked up on her first term and got really unlucky for a variety of reasons (China slowed down, our constitution has very strict rules on how to spend the budget, we're part of an economic bloc that makes it difficult to make bilateral deals with other countries). So, when our economy collapsed after her re-election, there were immediate calls for impeachment, even though that's not a valid reason.
The government has had a rough year. A brilliant finance minister (Joaquim Levy) who could've made the necessary cuts and enforced the austerity measures we needed simply had no political capital to do so. Every time he made a cut, congress came up with more spending.
Dilma became, for all intents and purposes, both a lame duck and a scapegoat. The president and her party soon became the poster children for all that went wrong with the country (an over-generalisation if there's one), even though she's been fighting corruption since day one. She seems to be a well-intended technocrat, and has little time for politics... Which has been her undoing.
For a while last year, the vice president (who belongs to another party) was the de facto president until things got better. But then his party threatened jumping ship after a disgruntled member of the president's party accused her mentor of corruption, and her mentor happens a former president whose approval ratings most leaders can only dream of. So you had the following situation:- The vice-president's party gave the government a 30 day notice suggesting they might leave the government
- The only person who could help Dilma was now involved in a corruption scandal
Because there were no proofs against him, Dilma assumed it would be a good idea to make the former president her chief of staff. And hell broke loose, because the opposition said this would shield him from prosecution (even though it won't).
So loads of things have happened since then, and rules have been trampled and mangled. I have to go to work now, but I can tell you the rest after I come back (though I suspect you'll have had enough with this giant wall of text ).

I'm used to walls I'm Jon Snow after all. Sounds complicated. Lira wear the Che hat to the protest and forget about the rest.
