Being a nurse, how does your shift work go. Do you work nights for an extended period of time and then rotate back to days or is it a week to week basis. Like you work nights 2 or 3 days out of the week and then the rest of the day of the week you work days. How does the shifts work at your job? |
I do two weeks of days and two weeks of nights, repeat. 7 shifts a rotation, 12 hour shifts. I work a traditional, or continental, line. So I work a weekend (Fri-Sun) with the two days following that weekend off, then I go back for two days and have the following weekend off, back for two days, off for two, repeat.
Works great for me. I really enjoy the switch and having lots of days off, especially midweek. I'm a night owl and I usually only sleep 4-6 hours on the reg anyway...so the changeover doesn't bother me at all.
There are dayday/nightnight (4 shifts on, 5 days off) lines, but I don't like that.
