Dude, someone I know from the US wasn't allowed to read Harry Potter as a kid because his evangelical family insisted he'd get "ideas" from it and grow up worshiping Satan or become a witch.
The guy is actually still an evangelical, but "rebelled" in junior college by buying the Harry Potter books and binge reading them.
