I could give you two simple tips but you'd probably wouldn't like it either.
1. Reduce your sugars.
2. Reduce your carbs (rice, pasta, bread, potatoes).

At first just keep a mental note every time you consumed a sugar or a carb. Then you start trying to think of substitutes.

Then make 1 change in your daily routine. For example I stopped putting sugar in my oatmeal.

Good luck

Actually, this is precisely what has been working so far

I don't really have much of a sweet tooth though, #2 did most of the trick.

Recruiters are having at it, and they have kept me on their fwd list. These people are just not smart. We need to automate this shit. I hate when they put in ALL CAPS Passpprt# H1B/Sponsorship Visas Apply. I feel like developers deserve better than this. Absolute shit, I was recruited by a company that has its own recruiting. It wasn't a bullshit H1B job. This is a complete scam. Close the fucking border.

Another big issue in Tech is that of free work. Some companies you interview with may ask you to write or complete an assignment, piece of of code, or algorithm for them. Approach these with care, in addition to never sending out your passport number or social security, you should consider twice submitting code that has been asked as an interview requirement. Absolutely review and consider rejecting it.

Offer an in person interview or send out your github...wherever your free code base should be. That's what I have told them, please tell me when I can show up for a markerwhiteboard interview.

This is grueling work and you deserve the best.

We are steering Mark against Trump and following us, the CALEXIT resistance, I know big people at FB and ... with most of my department and my former employers. I mean we could make a difference.

They agree there was no reason for his children to be there yesterday. This is cronyism, nepotism...this is what kills nations.

So maybe Facebook will say no, but I won't stop fighting to pull Mark and others on our side.

Today wasn't exactly the best day of the year. There was Berlin, there was Zurich, there was Ankara, there is always Aleppo...

It's tragic times we're currently in.

"we have idea what caused this man to carry out this attack or what's behind his actions"

I was like, did you just fucking watch your own feed?

I know it's murdoch but fuck, at least try.

Actually, in spite of days like yesterday, I still think we're living through good times (and 2016 was more of a dent than an all out catastrophe).

A hundred years ago your forefathers were fighting in WWI (Brazil didn't really do much back then). Four score minus two years ago our ancestors were heading to the trenches once again in WWII. When I was born, the thought of a nuclear apocalypse coming to reality was quite realistic. Then millennials were born during a lull in human history, in which I, for one, experienced the re-democratisation of my country, and a more stable world order after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Syria was probably the greatest single cock-up ever since, but the end of all (officials) wars in the American continent also happened this year, so it's not all doom and gloom:

The map above considers the Mexican war on drugs as an actual war, so it's not very consistent (China is also orange because of the Xinjiang uprising, by that's killed fewer people than there were months this year).

Compared to all this we've experienced ourselves, 2016 was a disaster. But, if you think about what previous generations had to go through, it could've been way worse. Although, of course, the Don can easily make it so, but the US government was founded upon checks and balances, so let's hope they actually work

Oh, Sky News! Sincerely, the only thing good about that televised tabloid are the adverts. Other than that, I've always took everything they said with a massive pinch of salt

You're certainly right that even in the last 100 years, there have been far more mass brutal events; our generation can't even fathom what ww1&2 were like, but what's new, and why I say tragic is that at least in developed parts of the world that weren't engaged in these once or twice in a lifetime global wars, you had a semblance if everyday security.

Sure, there's always been fringe threats but we've never experienced what we have now; you can be anywhere, from a beach front promenade, to a Christmas market to a football match (basically any public event in nearly any country) and get mown down or vaporized by by an indiscriminate nutter who is willing to die for their cause.

Compared to the world wars, we live in cushy times.
