Haha, really!? I can't imagine how funny it must feel to be around her. My wife if 5' and I'm 5'11, and she has to stand on the kerb so I can kiss her without hunching a bit
Feels pretty tight. She wears kill heels to compensate. I like it. makes me feel like Rambo. You can just pick up the tiny ones like they were a carry on bag.
I only use cheques for big sums.

I think if you don't date a check it is just automatically good. So you shouldn't have written that second check...
I write checks to myself to transfer money between accounts, sometimes, or when I owe a friend a large amount of money and don't want to deal with cash.

I would just use internet banking for either of those.

Really? I have had tellers reject undated checks when I haven't noticed the date not being there... Hmmm.
Eitherway, I am not worried, the manager is local, its a family, and the only own two properties. I emailed him and told him to tear up the first check. I might call my bank tmrw and put a stop payment on it too, but online it says its 33$ to do that, so if it costs money... :/

If I do online transfers it takes a few days for the money to transfer and clear, while if I write a check and bring it directly to a bank, I get the money automatically.

Furthermore, I am out of town starting tmrw morning till the 1st, so I figure its better to have two checks in there and deal with that problem then pass the rent date with a check that won't get deposited.

LOL, it's almost the other way around here. Cheques take up to 3 days to clear, whereas inter-bank transfers rarely take longer than 24 hours, often way less. Transfers to another account with the same bank are instant.

My bank credits my account on deposit for checks as soon as they are deposited. It is nice. Of course if they don't clear then you are fucked, but still nice.

I write them for my mother's rent. Although I suppose I could switch to direct deposit - not sure why I haven't bothered to change it. I kinda like writing cheques.

Our rent gets automatically debited from our bank account every Monday night. Same with the last rental place, and all the ones before that. I'm pretty sure if I asked them if I could pay by cheque, they'd tell me to fuck off

Wait, you pay weekly? Australia is strange.
And, yeah, I quite enjoy writing them. Something fun about it. Until the funds disappear from my account
