Yeap. Hard to find info in English though. I know I have all the necessary documents.

for my eu passport they made me get my birth certificate. i showed them mine and they needed some big thing i never heard of and my mom hooked it up. she never told me where she got it or what it was but mine expired so i got to get that soon. i think its the actual document
