Yeah, it didn't work out to my advantage that day, About 2.5 miles of that hike was all uphill and I'm not in the best shape. I went on a hike in the Santa Cruz Mountains two months ago and I found the perfect vantage point to take a quick photo and a long swig, and it worked out great. But this trail was a bit more tough. The funny part was that when I finally caved in to drink a lil, about 30 yards further uphill was the ideal fucking view to take a drink at. In fact this 60 year old dude was just chilling up there, finishing a glass of some red wine, friggin' stole my idea man. Ah well, I'm sore as shit right now, but still glad I went. Nice to get away from the suburbs for a little bit.

there was one day last year, i got shitfaced on margaritas, ate a massive burrito and decided i wanted to go for a hike. i made it about 10 mins before i was puking my guts out while being passed by a couple of grandmas. another time we forgot water bottles so we bought a bottle of wine at the store (each) and decided it was good enough, another terrible idea.


i havent drank in 2 months and i must say the hikes im doing this year are much more enjoyable and im actually running again, maybe ill keep up this no drinking thing.
