If anything it was VvD who should have been given a red card for violent play. Perhaps proper disciplining will one day teach football players like him not to respond like total idiots when they feel their opponent does something unacceptable. Their constant whinging and begging the referee to give cards is one thing, but violent responses like this ought to be instant red and suspension.
