At first I was like, "Oh great, another Age Of Love remix". Then I listened and realised it was the other Age Of Love from the Renaissance Mix Collection. Shame they don't re-release the originals when they do these update mixes.

Indeed. I was myself primarily surprised that Framewerk is actually Magic Alec and Darren James of Karova/Manhattan/Intastella/Cimmera etc. I catch up slowly.

Some nice picks there.

What is the real aesthetic?

My chief problem with these Framewerk updates is they turn practically everything they touch into an ultra-airy ambient breaks version suitable only for opening a set. Which is nice, and all, but a bit of a waste of a classic.
