Had my pylonidal cyst surgery on Tusday. Friggin thing was huge, 2.3 inch and hid under the fibrous tissue of an older cyst that got operated few months back. Needless to say they had to sew me up and the surgeon fears eventual infection. So I'm in lots of pain, but at least my girlfriend does all the shopping for me.

I had a couple of nefarious/pre-cancerous looking moles removed. One was hidden between two toes. I just jogged a lazy mile, and now I am regretting it a bit. However, you clearly have me beat by a factor of 10!

I've just come back from a kid's birthday party. It was terrifying.

Not because of the children shouting or the deafening saccharine melodies (I like happy hardcore after all). When we we're about to sing "Happy Birthday", an angry pastor showed up and told us to be silent and we should sing some specific lines of the song.

No explanation, no anything.

Later I found out it's because evangelicals here believe some of the lines in the song are supposed to summon the devil. Yes, you read it right, happy birthday in swathes of ultra-religious Brazil is supposed to be a satanic calling

Dude, someone I know from the US wasn't allowed to read Harry Potter as a kid because his evangelical family insisted he'd get "ideas" from it and grow up worshiping Satan or become a witch.

The guy is actually still an evangelical, but "rebelled" in junior college by buying the Harry Potter books and binge reading them.
