You know what really sucks about grading exams?

When a student gets everything right - except for ONE item. You can almost feel their pain

I love it when it happens. If they get everything right it's not good. You don't want them acting like a confident fat chick. No one likes a confident fat chick.

When one student goes really well, not when everybody aces the exam, I mean

Depending on the test, however, if everyone gets a high score it may mean you did your job as an instructor and they know what they need (although you should always double check to make sure you're not being too soft).

Went to a cute girl I fancied for a while to get her number. She liked me, and responded well, we exchanged them, spoke a bit. Yesterday I call her and she tells me she is a bit busy and we can meet tomorrow (today). She was very keen on meeting up and basically took a big part of the initiative as well.

Today I phone her. She tells me that "something...or rather, someone intervened" and that we could still chat at university but would not want to complicate things.

Feels like shit.

Dont worry. Thats why you have to be after several chicks at one time. Its like investing decisions. You wouldnt risk your retirement in one stock would you? Spread out the risk, so you dont sweat if one goes bad.
