I knew Russel would go hard on Jenny. She posted pics though, so she isn't ashamed or scared of what is to be said but yes it is a traditional tattoo. I have seen many variasons myself. As long as the person getting the tattoo is ok with it I don't see any problem with either of ya'lls (texas here) art.

I got the night off tonight too - so it turned out to be an even awesomer day than it already was.
edit: I mean, I would have been fine to go to work, but am glad that I can just relax and not bug my back.

Well you don't just get a tattoo and leave it, duh. If you want it to look good over time, you can expect to go back for touch ups eventually.
I have the same artist in Austin that has done all 3 of my tats and she won't touch the first one she did at all. Said, she will ruin it because so much time went by before seeing here again.
But you can't keep getting touch ups every few years because it's like plastic surgery in the way your piece will end up looking fucked up after so many attempts to keep it looking fresh.

Yeah, that's stupid. You can't keep getting touch ups whenever you think it's faded a little bit. Your dermis can only hold so much ink and if you overpack it that's when you develop scar tissue and bleed outs. Your skin also loses its elasticity over time, which is why most reputable artists will not do a tattoo with that amount of detail in such a small space. Look at that in 10 or 15 years and it'll look entirely different.

Well I would hope you wouldn't NEED touch ups that frequently. I'm just saying, that if you want your shit to look good after time, you will need to go back for touch ups. But every few years is just silly.

Honestly I think that is a good move to get that covered up as well.
