I hadn't taken my medication yet, failed to read all of your posts thoroughly. I agree with you, and I've shared my thoughts on this issue with others aswell. (I'm sorry for the confusion though.)
Some academics claim the US and Britain negotiated an exit plan, but the conflict remained unresolved for a while. Many claim the US still owes Britain a fortune. Who knows, it's not really relevant.
