America has a bizarre relationship with electronic music. It sounds electronic music only makes it to the top 40 if there's someone rapping on top of it (which obviously includes vanilla hip hop) or if it's bass-driven breakbeat (mind you, that's not dubstep).

And, of course, depending on your concept of what electronic dance music is, and what can be danced to, having a cute singer say inanities for around three minutes is also another way to steal the top spot in the charts. But that's about it.
