As someone who was born and raised in a tropical country, and lived there pretty much my whole adult life, I'm having a hard time accepting spring/summer days are this much longer than the average. It feels too weird to have dinner when it's still bright outside, and I'm still trying to get used to having so many shiny hours. I understand what's going on, I know about the planet's tilted axis and everything, but it's the same reason I keep looking for the southern cross in the night sky (when there is one) and the moon looks upside down. It just feels... weid.
It's like the Swedish word "slutsignal". You know it just means "final whistle", but you always do a quick double take to make sure no overly friendly wenches have been summoned.
