That's what I was getting at by the numbers, Jack, thanks. Sounds so much simpler when you say it that way, lol.

No need to defend yourself to me. I’m basically pointless as a human being.

Nah, I took it wrong and was half ass snarky, so I do apologize. But you are right, there should be no "surprise" in the numbers going up as more and more tests are done. I am still not so sure that here in the US we really ARE testing more yet.
In the meantime, please enjoy our Dear Cheeto:

I assume numbers here are p bad since we didn’t really do anything for weeks and let people travel from infected places to other places without infections. And we still aren’t testing all that much compared to other places. We kinda fucked ourselves. But hey, what else is new?

Still amusing to run into people who don’t understand why things are shut down “because we don’t shut things down for the flu” and will buttress their tepid argument with anecdotal claims of not knowing anyone personally who has been infected.
I wish anyone who thinks these things would please fuck off forever.

Well, I mean, in theory that's what will happen to them. Let's hope.

The problem of doing many more tests is that (at least over here) the test capacities are very limited. Analysing takes 4 hours. At the moment we can test 2000 samples each day in our country.
They are looking to increase this, but meanwhile they found another way to get a better view or just additional numbers. I'm not sure if other countries maybe already are doing the same:

Boris Johnson said that he was in negotiations to buy "literally hundreds of thousands" of antibody tests which would be "as simple as a pregnancy test", once they were available and shown to work.
An at-home test that would tell you if you have or have already had it would be huge.
And these will also tell you if you're knocked up! /s

I can't believe you were still living completely normally last weekend
I last went out on the 7th and shifted my investments massively on the 9th. Admittedly, my wife has respiratory issues and I'm paranoid, but still.

A week ago there were 11 confirmed cases in Leeds. We're still a long way behind the situation in London. A city with 13% of the national population has around 50% of the cases.
