Your own accent got it closer. It's "ZHOR-zhee" (can't really spell it in English, but it's the same "o" as in "hot" for you). Say it in English, as you normally would, and we'll just assume it's the correct pronunciation with a thick accent 
Consonants in Portuguese sound closer to their English counterparts than you'd expect from the proximity to Spanish.
